Olympic Legacy

BAFTA is probably the best venue in London to watch films and was the only choice for us when launching the Olympic Legacy film made by Red Bee for the LDA and the East London Business Alliance in the summer of 2008. The screening was attended by Lord David Puttnam and many others involved in the project. Pictured here is Charlie Foreman from Hackney in his stunning 'signature' red gilet!; The Rev Duncan Green, Church of England's Olympic Legacy Chaplain; Tom Russell, at the time Legacy Tzar at the LDA; London 2012 staff and several great people from ELBA who have been working tirelessly to deliver opportunities to young people in the East End.

The real stars of the film ( http://www.redbeemedia.com/#/legacy2020/ ), however, were the Waltham Forest Youth Ambassadors who presented the piece - untrained, but confident performers, and fully committed to the promise of Legacy. They are looking to us to deliver! Media is the key legacy opportunity, London is one of the world's great creative centres, hence the focus on the re-purposing of the Olympic Broadcast Centre post 2012. By turning the Broadcast Centre into a thriving media hub we can provide jobs and training for the youth of East London, whilst also providing many media companies with opportunities to develop new ways of working together in a great new site in an exciting part of East London.
