Before founding Belle Media Kay held a variety of senior roles at BBC Broadcast/Red Bee Media, most recently as Director, Partnerships responsible for developing and managing relationships with global businesses including LOCOG (Olympic Organising Committee London 2012), Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent, Accenture, VizRT, Ericsson, C4, C5, ITV, BBC, BSkyB and Virgin Media. She is also the driving force behind the media business partnership looking at the post Games use of the 2012 International Broadcast Centre.

Prior to BBC/Red Bee she worked as an independent consultant on projects that varied from advising on an on-air design pitch for Discovery Kids, USA, the UK Government's feasibility study for Teacher's TV and a strategic report for Channel 4 on out-sourcing all its Presentation. Career highlights included leading the on-air presentation launch team at Channel Five and Head of On-Air at Disney Channel UK when it launched in 1995.

She started in radio as a BBC Studio Manager and quickly became a Music Producer (World Service) before moving to television in 1987 with Channel 4. At 4 she worked up through a range of posts before becoming responsible for the promotions strategy in 1993 at a time when the channel first began selling its own air-time. Her early career was at Decca International where she was part of the team launching the Compact Disc.

Other information

Kay was an active member of Promax for many years. Promax promotes excellence in channel branding and promotion - her roles included - UK Seminar Chair 1998; UK Conference Chair 1999; UK Exec Committee Chair 2000 & 2001; and International Board Member 2001-2003.

In 2008 she was awarded the ELBA 'Legacy Champion of the year' 2008 for her contribution to planning for Olympic Legacy. She is a Board Member of Skillset's Olympic Host Broadcast Training Programme. She has been a Member of Bafta since 1998 other interests include film music, travel, ecological travel, wildlife photography, dance, aerobics, piano. She is fluent in French having studied at Nice University and has conversational Italian.
